Does Acupuncture Hurt?
While some patients describe sensations such as tingling, pressure or heaviness during needling, most people are surprised at how gentle and relaxing acupuncture is. People often fall asleep during the treatment!
Do you offer private health fund rebates?
Electronic health fund rebates are available for Acupuncture treatments, please contact your health insurance provider for further information. Some providers also offer rebates for nutrition consults. These typically require the lodgement of an invoice.
Is acupuncture safe?
When performed by a suitably trained practitioner acupuncture is extremely safe. As with any treatment, there can be risks associated. The most common adverse events include minor bruising, or discomfort which typically resolve quickly. More serious adverse events have been recorded such as pnuemothorax, but these incidents are extremely when correct techniques are used.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments required will depend on the complexity and severity of your condition, your individual response to treatment and your need for ongoing support. In terms of acupuncture, positive outcomes can be seen for many conditions in 2-4 treatments. However, more chronic conditions may require additional treatments.
For nutritional & herbal medicine, you will receive all of the information and required interventions at the first consult. The need for follow-up consultations is then determined on a case-by-case basis depending on your circumstances.
